John Chambers IMPACT Essential Annuals is a limited-edition value mix containing four native Cornfield species. This mix can be used in a variety of project areas, adding a burst of colour whilst also boosting biodiversity too. Suited to a range of soil types and environmental conditions, John Chambers IMPACT Essential Annuals promises a striking display, with the option to double-sow the seeds in Autumn and Spring to extend the flowering season further.

Usage:

Plant pots and containers, parks and community spaces, general amenity sites and green spaces, roundabouts, public areas, where displays of colours as required.

Sowing Rate:

3g/sqm

If double sowing, sow 3g/sqm in Autumn, then an additional 1g/sqm in Springtime

1kg bag covers 333 sqm (sown at 3g/sqm).

Seed can be stored for use later, keep in a cool and dry area.

Wildflower Site Preparation

The site should be weed free. Annual weeds should be controlled by mechanical means or by the use of contact based herbicide. Perennial weeds, for example docks thistle, nettles and couch grass can be dealt with using a translocated herbicide such as Round-Up. Cultivate to achieve a fine seed bed, sow seed mix and then roll to ensure firmness. The best results are obtained when there is good contact between the soil and the seeds.

Sowing Times

Sowing can best be achieved by mixing the seed with dry sand, dry sifted topsoil or sawdust and evenly broadcast. It is important that the seed is in contact with moisture in the soil so the seedbed should be lightly raked and then rolled.
